Hi crafty friends, Tina here and I had so much fun creating this Wicker Basket filled with juicy lemons. The basket was initially designed as an Easter die set but of course it can be used all year round!
After creating a standard card base, I cut a white panel with the outer die from Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace. This set comes with its own detailed insert, but I switched to the Buffalo Plaid Diagonal die instead for that extra layer of interest (I just glued this embossed rectangle panel cut to size on top of the scalloped piece).
With my base finished, I could
start die cutting the cute Wicker Basket (and bow), some Fresh Lemons and a bunch of leaves (Strawberry Patch). Yes, I did use strawberry leaves with the lemons,
but that is the beauty of card making!
I placed the die cuts on my sticky
mat and used Distress Oxides to add color to all these pieces (Squeezes Lemonade,
Peacock Feathers, Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Kitsch Flamingo, Abandoned
Coral).
Then came the tricky part, creating the composition of basket, fruit, and flowers. I positioned the basket near the bottom of the white panel and played around with the die cuts. Once I was happy, I could glue the elements in place, using a mix of foam squares and liquid glue.
My sentiment was taken from the Everyday Greetings set and stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Adding a few Aquamarine Jewels finishes this sweet project.
